Ingredients:
Cod fillets (4-6)
Vegetable oil
A bottle of beer
2 cups of flour
Three pinches of salt
Fish and chips - a great british dish! If you've got the time, make it yourself, it's very easy.
I recommend that you use beer batter as it makes the batter light and
crispy. If you don't like beer, you can replace it with fizzy water.
In a big bowl, empty the beer,
salt and sift in 1 and a half cups of flour. Mix well with a whisk, making sure there's no lumps. Put aside and heat at least 4 inches of
oil in a chip pan.
Pour the left over flour in a shallow dish,
coat your
fish and shake off any excess flour.
Dip them into the batter and cook them in the hot
oil (350-400 F) until brown and
crispy (1-2 mins).
If you've only got one chip pan, or you're on a diet, cook
oven chips!
