Cutting a glass bottle without breaking it

Prepare a bowl cold water. Put a piece of string dipped in 90 alcohol around the area of the bottle that you want to cut.
Tie the string very tightly and then light it. Put your bottle in the cold water and and the thermal shock will break your bottle where you've tied the string.
Finally, sand the rough edges down with some sand paper.
