Cleaning straw plaits

To clean straw plaits (on old chairs for example), dust them down with a soft brush, then clean them with a damp cloth dipped in milk.
Milk cleans straw and makes it more flexible.
Finally rinse off with a cloth dipped in warm water to get rid of any left over milk.
