Helping your child recognize different colours

Make it easy for your little kid to learn colours by associating each colour to something or someone (s)he knows.
For example, white is the colour of Snowy, your dog, red is the colour of mummy's car, blue is the colour of his/her favorite teddy bear.
Start with just one colour at a time, and then start with multi-coloured things like rainbows and parrots.
